Walker, who joined Event Horizon as chief financial officer in 2023, assumes daily operational responsibilities at Intergalactic to enable McCann to focus on portfolio strategy

ST.GEORGE, Utah – August 13, 2024 – Intergalactic, maker of the most advanced next-generation thermal management systems, today announced that David Walker has been appointed president, with Brian McCann assuming the role of CEO of Event Horizon Spaceworx, the parent company for Intergalactic and its sister company, RAM Aviation, Space & Defense.

Walker was appointed chief financial officer of Event Horizon in mid-2023 and has taken on more operational responsibilities at Intergalactic as McCann’s focus has shifted to managing the broader portfolio of companies under Event Horizon. McCann, who became CEO of Intergalactic in 2019, will relinquish daily operations to Walker while staying involved in high-level strategy and governance for Intergalactic and RAM.

“I’m grateful for Walker’s leadership and passion for what we’re building at Intergalactic,” McCann said. “It’s bittersweet to hand over the reins, but my time and attention is best spent on strategy for our growing portfolio of companies and working with our board on critical governance items. Intergalactic is in very good hands under David’s leadership and I look forward to working with him and RAM’s management team to make a major impact in the aerospace industry.”

Walker will retain his role as executive vice president and CFO of Event Horizon while focusing his daily operational efforts on Intergalactic.

“Brian has assembled a terrific team and developed a winning strategy at Intergalactic and now has the opportunity to make an even bigger impact at Event Horizon,” Walker said. “I’m humbled by the opportunity to lead Intergalactic in its next phase of growth and look forward to collaborating with Brian on our strategy as we look to disrupt the thermal management layer of the aerospace value chain.”

Prior to Intergalactic, Walker spent two decades in senior finance and operations roles at FlightSafety International, Spirit AeroSystems, Sierra Nevada Corporation, and Lockheed Martin. McCann became CEO of Intergalactic after leading business development, supply chain, and operations at RAM for 15 years.
RAM acquired Intergalactic (formerly Airborne ECS) in 2019 and relocated the company from Port Angeles, Washington, to St. George, Utah. In 2023, McCann founded Event Horizon as a private holding company for Intergalactic, RAM, and two non-operating companies for the companies’ capital equipment and real property.

Intergalactic was founded in 2016 on the vision of modernizing the technology stack for aerospace thermal management as rising heat loads become a constraining problem in defense aerospace, civil aviation, and space. RAM was founded by Ray and Melzie Ganowsky, McCann’s maternal grandparents, in 1975 and has become the premier manufacturer of custom small valves and solenoids in the aerospace sector.
